Melvyn is at it again!!

Leading by example Melvyn, a trustee and previous Chair of Lovey Foundation (UK) is running 72 miles in 28 days for Lovey Foundation (UK) at the spritely age of 72.

Melvyn will be running in Haywards Heath, West Sussex between 18 February and 18 March this year.

 Those were Melvyn's parents’ birthdays; both died aged 72. Melvyn aims to raise £5,184 – enough for the required uniforms, sandals, backpacks, exercise books and personal stationery to help 72 children of subsistence farmers in Bawku into their nearest primary schools in September.

Melvyn has completed his run and sponsorship is now closed. Thank you very much for sponsoring Melvyn's 72 miles at 72 run which has raised almost £4,500 including Gift Aid. This will help us and our Ghanaian partner to enable 85 children to start school in Bawku Municipal District this September.

WEEK 1 of 4: Saturday 18 - Friday 24 February inclusive

Miles run: 18.9 (26%) 

WEEK 2 of 4: Saturday 25 February - Friday 3 March inclusive

 Miles run: 19.5 (making 38.4 miles in all, i.e. 53.3% completed at the half-way point)
Sponsorship (online & offline inc. Gift Aid) by 3 March: £1,024 (19.75% of the £5,184 target)

 WEEK 3 of 4: Saturday 4 March - Friday 10 March 2023 inclusive:

 Miles run: 19.5 (making 57.9 miles in all, i.e. 80.4% completed at the three quarter-way point)

 Sponsorship (online & offline inc. Gift Aid) to 10 March inclusive: £2,708.75 (52.3% of the £5,184 target)

WEEK 4 of 4: Saturday 11 March - Friday 17 March 2023 inclusive:

 Miles run: 14.3 (making 72.2 miles in all - challenge completed within the 28 days)

 Sponsorship (online & offline inc. Gift Aid) to 18 March inclusive: £3,191.25 (61.6% of the £5,184 target. Sponsorship can still be made online and offline)
